Fourteen young African innovators with groundbreaking agritech solutions which emerged from the AYuTe Africa Challenge, an initiative of Heifer Africa, have been invited to participate in the second edition of the MIT Solve Innovators Program.

Heifer International announced today the 2022 winners of the AYuTe Africa Challenge that supports agritech innovators: ThriveAgric of Nigeria, Kenya’s DigicCow and Botwana-based Brastorne Enterprises.

Young entrepreneurs across Africa are forging paths to a promising future for their generation. In support of their innovative spirits, Heifer International created the AYuTe Africa Challenge, an annual competition that awards cash grants to promising young agritech innovators across the continent — professionals who are using technology to reimagine farming and food production in Africa.

Heifer International, a global nonprofit working to end hunger and poverty through sustainable farming, on Wednesday, in Nairobi, Kenya, released a report highlighting how tens of thousands of smallholder African farmers have seen their livelihoods transformed by a tech-driven mechanization initiative.
