AYuTe Africa Challenge Ethiopia
AYuTe Africa Challenge Ethiopia identifies innovative agriculture and technology ideas with the potential to address challenges faced by smallholder farmers in the country.
About the Challenge
AYuTe Africa Challenge Ethiopia is part of the national edition of the AYuTe Africa Challenge and is open to youth agritech innovators across the country.
Innovations will focus on improving production, productivity, income, access to finance, and resilience, with awards provided to three standout young agritech innovators through a pitch competition.
AYuTe Africa Challenge Ethiopia is a national competition open to applications from all regions and federal administrations of Ethiopia.
Prizes total $20,000 in cash awards for the top three winners:
1st > $10,000
2nd > $6,500
3rd > $3,500

Meskerem Yemaneh Kahsay, Innovation – Odourless Poultry House – $10,000
Background: 27 years old BSc holder in Automotive Engineering from Bahirdar University1st Runner-up: Yishak Amdeselassie Fentamaryea, Innovation – Graphical and Interactive Agricultural Information – $6,500
Background: 25 years old BSc holder in Information Technology, Wello University and BA holder in Management from Unity University.2nd Runners-up: Samuel Getachew Mulugeta & Yosef Lakew Feyissa, Innovation – Digital Platform for Pre- and Post-harvest Scientific Consultation – $3,500
Background: Samuel, 22, and Yosef, 21, are 3rd year students at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University in Electrical & Computer Engineering and Software Engineering, respectively.
